Meanwhile, Chicago trio Mako Sica reflects a Native American influence via a brooding combination of jangly guitars, reverberated vociferation, and instrumental dynamics, and the Carolina Chocolate Drops blur new and old while beholden to the traditions of Americana and early African-American folk.
