Math-groove merchants Coalesce issue a must-have accompaniment to their decade-long comeback disc, combining more Western-driven melancholy to go with their regular dose of thunderous hardcore for OXEP.
Musical mastermind Omar Rodriguez Lopez adds to his mountainous prog catalog with Xenophanes, this time leaning on scurrying piano lines and taking full vocal control for an accessible yet technical record. Lastly (but not least-ly), inimitable rapper/producer Doom collects his favorite guest spots and behind-the-boards efforts on one disc. (more…)

Sole and the Skyrider Band takes another step in the logical progression of hip hop with a delicately constructed second effort, and electro-funk multi-instrumentalist Shawn Lee again joins forces Clutchy Hopkins for down-tempo jams. (more…)

After a three-year wait, Dysrhythmia returns with another disc of melodic yet frenzied tech instrumentals.

Following his own long layoff, Cage pens another album of narratives about self-destruction over a compelling mix of hip-hop, rock, and electro.

Avant-garde trio Zs plunges into murky, amorphous waters where rock, experimental, free jazz, noise, and ambient music meet.

For a massive three-disc release, Oneida continues its Thank Your Parents triptych with its most electronic and experimental jams. (more…)
