Nick Cave and Warren Ellis get together for another beautiful, melancholic, and tense film score centered on violin and piano, and the Rempis/Rosaly Duo drops a dose of alternately blistering and subdued free jazz that pays off with synchronizations that follows minutes of tension. (more…)

This year’s PLUG Awards, hosted by comedian Patton Oswalt, will take place March 6 at New York’s Terminal 5 and include performances from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (honored as the 2008 PLUG Impact Artist), Dizzee Rascal, and St. Vincent, among others. Tickets, once $25, are just $10 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
Only two days are left before PLUG closes the polls on categories such as Avant Album of the Year, Music Website of the Year (nudge nudge), Live Act of the Year, and more. Go to www.plugawards.com to vote!
