Fucked Up To Release The Chemistry Of Life!

On Oct. 7 Toronto punks Fucked Up are set to release their second record The Chemistry of Life. In addition to some guaranteed rocking riffage, the record, whose name and content celebrates the random chemical processes that brought life to Earth eons ago, is littered with exciting guest vocal appearances by Brooklyn’s own Vivian Girls, as well as Fucked Up’s hometown friend, Katie Stelmanis. Be sure to check out Chemistry’s first single “No Epiphany,” which is streamable below in the track listing section.

Rodriguez: Cold Fact Out Today!

It’s my birthday, so I got myself an interview with Catherine D’Lish. As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m crrrrrrazy about Ms. D’Lish.
How did you get interested in burlesque?
Well, I was born with a dirty mind, I’m pretty sure!

When I was very young, I spent plenty of time holed up in the garage, enjoying my daddy’s Playboy magazines. There were stacks of them- hours of fun! While growing up, I was fascinated with all things sexual. (more…)

Zozobra Unleash Bird Of Prey

Following last year’s debut, Harmonic Tremors (Hydrahead Records), Caleb Scofield (Cave In/Old Man Gloom) and his moniker Zozobra have returned with their latest Bird of Prey (Hydrahead Records).

Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip to Release Angles, Tour, Sign Deal

After releasing two smash hits in the UK, “Thou Shalt Always Kill” and “Beat That My Heart Skipped” the self-proclaimed new faces of “outsider pop” (aka Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip) have recently inked a deal with Sage Francis’ Strange Famous Records for the US release of their debut album Angles. Angles, which contains both of the hits mentioned above, will hit stores Sept. 2 and will be backed by the album’s first US single, “Look For The Woman” (MP3 below).

Gutter Twins to Play Voodoo, Fall Tour

The Gutter Twins have announced that they will join the likes of Death Cab For A Cutie, Lil’ Wayne, R.E.M., and countless other acts to play the New Orleans Voodoo Music Festival. The Twins will play the festival Oct. 24th on the Le Ritual stage. In addition to adding the Voodoo Music Festival, the Twins have also announced that they will play a small string of east coast dates this fall to close out 2008. The postponed Philadelphia and New York shows will now take place on Nov. 5th and 6th, respectively. (more…)

Annihilation Time Finalizes West Coast Tour Dates

After much tinkering and tweaking (and a few now erroneous posts on our part), the hard-rocking Oakland outlaws, Annihilation Time have finalized their west coast tour schedule. Though they will miss Colorado, Salt Lake City, and Reno, the tinkering has opened up the August 6th slot for a Bay Area show, that was originally canceled last week. Though no venue has been announced for the August 6th opening, the band says they will post details as soon as they come. (more…)
