Animal Collective Prepare for Tour, Release Single

Chances are you’ve already heard the leaked material from Animal Collective’s upcoming album, Strawberry Jam. Though your impatience should be punished, it’ll be rewarded instead with Peacebone, the first single from the ever-nearing September release, and a little tour to ring in the new album. Lucky you.

Peacebone, available in three formats –12″, 10″, and CD — will feature the album version of the title track as well as “Safer,” a song that has, until now, only been heard by fortunate concert-goers.

The release of the 10″ single is planned for August 13th and will be sold worldwide. The CD and 12″ can be purchased beginning August 21st only in North America. Those singles also feature remixes of “Peacebone” by Animal Collective cronies Black Dice and Pantha du Prince.

In addition to that, Animal Collective will be on the road in North America for most of September, playing new material from Strawberry Jam, which is out September 11 on Domino Records.
