DeVotchKaWhen we told you last week of the news concerning Southwestern indie heroes DeVotchKa — the release of How It Ends in Europe and tour dates both in the U.S. and abroad — there was not yet word of work on a forthcoming full-length album. But as you can tell from this here update, that’s no longer the case!

Though it has a few performances sprinkled throughout the end of July and beginning of August, the group currently is in the studio arranging the full follow-up to How It Ends. It’s uncertain whether Anti-, which has the rights to the European release of How It Ends, will put out the new album.

Regardless, we’re brimming with excitement at the thought of the disc, which the band hopes will be in the hands of fans by early 2008. DeVotchKa’s last release, the 2006 Curse Your Little Heart EP that mostly consisted of covers, was issued through Ace Fu Records.
