Becca Henry CarnieAfter having her interest piqued with A Lil Bit O’ Naughty, ALARM’s photoessay on cabaret, vaudeville, and burlesque in the Bay Area, photographer Becca Henry has arranged a fun-filled evening to display the images printed in our summer issue. The related event, titled Carnie Life, takes place next Thursday, July 19 at San Francisco establishment 111 Minna Gallery.

The one-night extravaganza includes an appearance of Vau de Vire, an avant-cabaret community featured in Henry’s aforementioned pictorial of naughtiness, and features the likes of a contortionist named Catie, self-described Klown-Fi artist Boenobo of Gooferman, magician/balloon artist Dante, and more.

Carnie Life runs from 5-9 pm PT with a happy hour until 7:00. The event has a suggested donation of five dollars, which is a bona fide steal for the evening’s level and variety of entertainment.
