eric robersonEric Roberson has been making music for over ten years and on his latest release, …Left, he showcases that modern day soul still has a heartbeat. His voice is distinctive and strong; his music is personal and meaningful.

There is no bubblegum or overly clichéd themes; the man creates and sings music from his heart. The songwriting is original and he often puts a new twist on subjects we’ve heard about before—lost love, love of music, and contemplation of life’s missed opportunities and pleasures.

Some highlights include “Pen Just Carries Away,” “Open Your Eyes,” and “Couldn’t Hear Her.” The production on this album varies from upbeat, hypnotic rhythms to slower melodic tunes. The use of instrumentation helps define his sound and gives it a full, organic texture. No two beats sound similar; Roberson creates a diverse and highly credible album with his own production team.

Individually, he can match or exceed many of the game’s top singers and his recognition is long overdue. Here’s a wish that more people become hip to Eric Roberson’s eclectic and soulful music, because he definitely is a throwback with a modern, current- day twist.
