When not dabbling in White Stripes drum and guitar duets, or dancey electronics a la former bandmates El Guapo, some of this music does hint at what we’ve come to love Dischord for, despite its almost insistent barrage of shortcomings. This music can be slightly challenging at times, but more often than not it lacks the warmth, character, and direction to make much of an impression. But maybe that’s the point?
