Nick CaveNick Cave and the Bad Seeds are readying themselves for the spring release and tour supporting Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!, their fourteenth studio album. The band has also planned to release the title track as a single February 18th, and the full-length will be available in the U.S. April 8th from Anti-.

According to Nick Cave, little effort was made to differentiate the sound on the new album from that of the Bad Seeds’ garage rock project Grinderman, which debuted just last year. In a description of the forthcoming release on their website, Cave also reveals the inspiration for Dig: Cave’s childhood fascination and disgust with the eponymous biblical legend, which he coupled with his admiration for Harry Houdini.

Besides a rumored “gigantic tour” (excluding the U.S.) to follow the release of Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!, a series of YouTube videos are being produced to promote the album, and a video for the title track has already been made and can be seen on the official Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds website.
