The 45-year-old editor became Marvel’s head honcho in 2000, ushering a new direction geared toward older readers for the company. In addition to breaking with the Comics Code Authority and featuring explicit content for the first time, Marvel has spent much of the last decade making radical and modernized changes to many of its staple characters.
