Gallows went from playing in basements to opening for punk grandpas Bad Religion and headlining the Warped Tour in less than a year, and were on the covers of British music magazines before they were signed to a label. They recently signed a one-million-pound, four-album deal with Warner Bros., but will continue releasing albums in the US through Epitaph. Though lead singer Frank Carter claims the band won’t last through 2009 (his real love is his tattoo gun), the band’s dramatic success and four-album deal seem unstoppable. Their live performances harken back to ye olde days of punk rock, when the barrier between the band and the crowd was difficult to find. During the last UK tour, Carter smashed his head while performing and was out of commission for four days with a concussion. He also received a tatto on stage during a recent performance at Taste of Chaos in Japan. US and Canada tour dates: Gallows: www.gallows.co.uk Email This
