Shut Up Am I Dreaming? - Shut Up Am I Dreaming? The band that started as a solo project of Wolf Parade front man Spencer Krug has turned into a full band effort, but still sounds exactly like you’d expect Krug’s solo material to sound. That is, it sounds like a semi-lucid, drugged out brilliant little avant-garde pop record that Krug recorded in his bedroom.

Two tracks in particular, “They Took a Vote and Said No”, and “The Empty Threats of Little Lord” are so very Spencer Krug, that you’d expect him to just start singing them at a party and kind of shrug and say, “Oh, I just made that up” while you walk away smacking yourself in the groin because you not only can’t get the songs out of your head, but because you also know you will never write anything as catchy or worthwhile as this guy probably does in his sleep.

I can’t imagine how much it sucks to be in this band, especially with reviewers like me who can’t talk about anything but the dude from Wolf Parade.
