Parched Finish Debut, Ephel Duath Set Album Deadline for December

Parched, the new side project from Ephel Duath guitarist/founder Davide Tiso, have completed their debut album. The Italian prog-metal heavyweight’s new jaunt consists of a rich, atmospheric sound that tries to “capture and recreate the sound of a desert/urban desert atmosphere.”

The album consists of ten songs, clocking in at just about an hour. Parched — Tiso on guitar and producer Eraldo Bernocchi handling guitar and electronics — has posted two songs for preview up on their MySpace page, www.myspace.com/parchedband. Fans of minimalist soundtracks or thoughtful sludge rockers like Jesu or Pelican should check it out. The band is currently shopping the album to various labels.

Tiso’s other band, the aforementioned Ephel Dauth, is set to release its new album, Through My Dog’s Eyes, in 2008. The album, which has a completion deadline of December, will be released through Earache Records. Earache put out their remix album, Pain Remixes the Known, in July.
